Ms. White was elected by the Board of Directors to serve as Chief Executive Officer in June of 2019, at the time of SDI‘s 40th anniversary. A shareholder and member of the board for nearly a decade at that time, she had been highly involved in the executive management of SDI since the death of her father, long-tenured SDI President and CEO, JC White, in 2010. Mr. White cared deeply about the people of SDI and for maintaining SDI’s solid industry reputation. Ms. White was honored to assume the mantle of leadership and feels a great personal commitment to the people of SDI and to our customers in ensuring we continue serving with great integrity in all we do.
Prior to this role at SDI, Ms. White spent 21 years as the owner and Creative Director of a firm serving a wide range of industries in North Alabama and beyond. As her long transition into defense contracting would ultimately mark the end of her creative career, she was grateful to be tapped by the Women’s Economic Development Council (WEDC) to be a personal mentor to an aspiring graphic designer in their scholarship program. Over the course of two years, she mentored her scholar through previously unheard-of successes both in and ancillary to the program, leaving a proud legacy to an industry she loved before assuming the role of leadership for SDI full time in 2019.
A Huntsville native, Ms. White is immensely proud of the world-renowned aerospace legacy of Huntsville and of SDI’s role in it for four decades.
